Trial voyage complete for new Xiamen-built ferry vessel

The Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry Company (XSI) recently announced the successful trial voyage of a new passenger roll-on / roll-off ferry vessel built for Viking Line.

The ship is the first of its kind to be built by XSI.

The 226-meter ro-ro ship can accommodate 2,800 passengers and 200 crewmembers.

The vessel is powered by a dual-fuel main engine and electric propulsion system with two pod thrusters capable of moving the ship at up to 22 knots.
