Songjiang battle array is a kind of folk martial art group performance which integrates southern Shaolin martial art, dance and acrobatics; it originated from military martial art tactic and township group training during the struggle against Japan in Ming Dynasty. With the development of the history, it has developed into a kind of performance battle array combining the martial art and dance which is popular among people from both sides of Taiwan Strait. Songjiang battle array of Jinmen is introduced rom Tong'an of Xiamen and has the basically same pattern as that of Xiamen. Songjiang battle array is a folk sports and entertainment activity popular among people from both sides of Taiwan Strait, and a traditional and excellent folk square performing art.
