How to get to Xiamen for WIF & CIFIT

 

Xiamen, one of China's earliest Special Economic Zones in the 1980s, is a coastal city in Fujian in southern China. The charming and dynamic city is advanced in economy and education and many other fields in China. It is so internationalized that it has more than 70 international air routes, making international tourists convenient to visit the city. However, it all depends on where you are coming from. The following information may be useful for your consideration.

- Outside of China

Fly to Xiamen Gaoqi International airport. There are direct flights from Singapore, Penang, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Korea, the Philippines and many other international airports.

 

- Within China

Fly, take a train or long distance bus to Xiamen. There are direct road, air and rail links to/from the major cities in China.

Airport to Xiamen city

Unlike many other airports in China, the distance between Xiamen airport and the town is only 20 minutes or more. In fact, you are within Xiamen city once you leave the airport.

Taxis are available easily and run by meter. It will help to have your destination written in Chinese as taxi drivers speak little or no English. It only takes 20 – 30 minutes from the airport to the international conference centre.

Train and long distance bus to Xiamen

The train and bus stations are within Xiamen city. Once you are out of the station, take a taxi to your hotel. There are 3 main long distance bus stations – Wucun Long-distance Bus Station, Hubin Nan Long-distance Bus Station and Songbai Long-distance Bus Station.

There are also bullet trains linking Xiamen with Quanzhou, Putian, Fuzhou and Niingde. The high-speed railway extends to Shanghai, stopping over Ningbo and Wenzhou in Zhejiang Province.

Once you check into your hotel, it's easy to get to the Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Centre, where the WIF and CIFIT will be held.
